Time For Grand Prix

This year is big for our daughter Madeleine. She will be competing in the Youth American Grand Prix (YAGP)this week in Orlando, FL. This is like the Super Bowl of ballet dancing and this is a very big deal for her. She will be dancing in two solo pieces and one group, or ensemble, piece.

She has been working very hard and dancing up to 7 days a week to get ready, along with working on jeweled pieces for MadeleinesJewels.Com to help her pay some of her many expenses. If she places well in Orlando she will have the opportunity to go on to New York for the final round. Dancers from around the world compete at YAGP, so she will have her work cut out for her, but we know she will do well.

MadeleinesJewels.Com wishes Madeleine and all the girls who will be competing at YAGP the very best of luck.

Getting Started

This is the first blog to kick off our new site, madeleinesjewels.com. At our site we offer beautiful, hand-crafted beaded jewelery and accessories for very reasonable prices.

The idea for our business was born through a few different ways.

First and foremost, our daughter, Madeleine is very involved in a high-end ballet company. One of the requirements of the daily routine is for her to wrap her hair in a bun. In order to this we would often have to buy decorative hairpieces to hold her bun in place. After buying several expensive hair pieces, Madeleine and my wife began to realize that maybe they could make them for cheaper.

They did a great job with them and everyone at the studio loved them and thought that they were really excellent quality. We started making high-end beaded pieces for the ballet company's performances, which spiraled into selling them at the studio, and then to some local dance stores. From there it went on to bigger places like Sweet N' Sassy.

At this point, we realized we should take it to the next level, so we have created a website; madeleinesjewels.com. We have not only made ample hair pieces, such as barrettes, clips and headbands, but we have also included earrings and bracelets.

We can also make custom pieces to fit just about anyone's need from a whole dance company or producion to going out with the girls for the day. Give us a look and see what we have!

We are still putting the final polishing on the website, so there are a few areas that aren't all the way ready yet, but we're getting there!
